Description In this seminar I will illustrate some recent progress in the field of astroparticle physics, with a special focus on applications for dark matter searches. In detail, I will cover
  1. some key aspects of cosmic-ray physics - of primary importance for our understanding of the astrophysical background plaguing dark matter indirect searches -
  2. dark matter searches in the context of strongly interacting theories and
  3. possible implications of the recent discovery of gravitational waves.
